I am Italian through and through

I have been doing a little research on Florence, Italy (Firenze) before I fly out. I tell you a little about what I have found out.

It was once a Roman colony established in 59 BC. That's a long time ago. It was under control of many different groups throughout the years. But today it is Italian through and through. The street numbering is confusing. It runs in relation to the river. Numbers start from the end nearest the river if they run perpendicular and east to west if the street is parallel. Odd numbers are always on the left side and even on the right. There are red numbers for businesses and blue/black for private buildings (apartments). The two systems aren't in order. An apartment building street # 39 may be next to a restaurant street # 98. Crazy huh?Well gotta get ready for clinical. I'll tell you more about Firenze later. After all I have my life to live.
